Warn Others as Jesus Warned Us: Ezekiel's Watchman

"Behold, I have told you before." — Matthew 24:25 (KJV)

Christ warned us what was coming so we could watch and be sober.

"Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober." — 1 Thessalonians 5:6 (KJV)

But that warning was never a call to sit in a cave staring at the sky, waiting for fire to fall. It doesn’t mean hiding in your house waiting to get raptured out of here.

So we got the warning. Does that mean we keep it to ourselves?

What Happens If We Stay Silent

Of course not. God told Ezekiel exactly what happens if we do:

"When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand." — Ezekiel 3:18 (KJV)

That’s heavy. If we know and stay silent, we are not being diligent servants of Christ’s command to share His gospel.

How We Live It Out

We do it by seeking the lost the same way Christ sought us.

"Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren." — 1 John 3:16 (KJV)

That means not preserving our own comfort, but caring about the eternal souls around us more than our own earthly convenience.

Proverbs puts it plainly:

"The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise." — Proverbs 11:30 (KJV)

That isn’t just for pastors and missionaries. It’s for:

Our FamilyOur sisters, our brothers, our children, our parents.
Our Friends and NeighborsThe people we see every week.
Even Our EnemiesNo one is outside the reach of the warning.

Why It Matters This Much

Peter tells us why:

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." — 2 Peter 3:9 (KJV)

So this week isn’t just about being ready. It’s about whether we’re ready to help others by warning them in love.
